MODULE DESCRIPTION
This module will consider and debate how America represents moments of conflict and trauma to itself and to the world. Conflict may be at the heart of drama, yet there are specific moments of trauma for America, in both the distant and recent past. The notion of trauma impacts on a personal, national and international level. It is arguably the case that America exorcises it demons and deals with trauma by playing these out in a fictionalised form. The module seeks to engage students in the analysis of the form and function of America’s ability to broadcast its traumas to the world.
