A warm welcome to your capstone project module
Capstone project overview
The aim of this 60-credit module is to facilitate and express independent enquiry in a substantial piece of individual self-directed research work. Capstone provides you with the opportunity to plan and conduct a piece of research through individual and independent activity in addition to presenting your findings using visual aids and in written academic format that meets professional standards. Throughout this semester you will identify a research topic, design and conduct your Capstone Project. Furthermore, you will also strengthen your research methods skills to help you complete your project effectively.
Upon successful completion of the module, you will be able to:
1. Identify, plan, design and conduct an individual project, underpinned by independent research, directly relevant to the programme of study.
2. Collect, analyse, interpret and evaluate data and information generated by the research activity.
3. Communicate findings which meets academic standards at degree level and professional standards of presentation.
Note:
Ethical approval must be obtained for the specific research on which this project is based. Applications for ethical approval should be submitted as soon as possible. Students are not permitted to collect data until ethical approval is confirmed. Confirmation of this approval should be appended to the submission.

Our focus in this module will be on 'Colleagues, Creativity and Change' and the role Leadership plays in these.
In brief, we will study:
Colleagues - The nature of teams, teamwork and leading teams
Creativity - Understanding innovation and creativity
Change - Why change and how to change.
Innovation and change occur through the actions of people. A leader may innovate and impose change, more likely though, the teams you lead, and are a part of, will be involved in innovating and changing. As we study each of these aspects, we will keep in mind that in reality they are not separate but intertwined.
Some of the CORE KSBs covered in this module:
