BMM4002M-2020-21-SEM1-A BMM4002M | Creative Approaches to Services Marketing | 2020-21 SEM1 (Group A)
The service sector is the largest contributor to the UK’s economy, with around 80% of the country’s GDP coming from services.
Learning how to market services in a service economy should thus be evidently relevant. Marketing services is different from marketing products, as services are intangible, difficult to store, vary in quality and pose an additional challenge for marketers.
This module will show how services can be marketed. It will build upon the principles of marketing to explain the components of the marketing mix that are unique to services (people, process and physical evidence) as well as expand students’ knowledge of how the elements of the traditional marketing mix can be applied to services.
The module will give students the basics of service marketing and management theory and encourage students to apply these to real-life situations that befall service companies.

BMM5006M-2021-22-SEM1-A BMM5006M | Sourcing, Supply Chain, Ethics and Distribution | 2021-22 SEM1 (Group A)
Welcome to your level-five Supply Chains module! This module will address the future challenges facing fashion companies with their offshore sourcing and global supply chain management strategies. The digital revolution has had a dramatic impact on the flow of information throughout the supply chain, from inventory management to the need to effectively process big data. There is increasing demand for more sustainable sources and the need to ‘green’ supply chain and logistical activities by developing environmental management systems. Increasing segmentation of the global market has resulted in a wide range of needs in outsourcing from the lean and agile requirements of the fast-fashion sector to the rapid growth of the luxury market. The module will prepare students for the industry by giving them a greater understanding of the increasing complexities of fashion retail supply chain.
I'll be your module leader - please contact me if you have any queries: s.cooper2@yorksj.ac.uk.
