QTS5008M-2025-26-YEAR-A QTS5008M | Becoming a Teacher Professional Studies 2 | 2025-26 YEAR (Group A)
This is a second-year module which builds on from the first-year professional module and underpins professional practice. This module is a response to increasingly diverse pupil populations and the requirement for teachers to adapt learning to ensure the progression of all children.
In line with the other professional studies modules, the module is focused on the themes of:
· Being a professional
· Behaviour & high expectations
· Assessment, curriculum and pedagogy
· Safeguarding and mental health
· Developing inclusive practice
· Theories of education, teaching & learning
· Personal philosophy
Developing inclusive practice is the core theme for the module.
This module includes opportunity for in-depth focus on a specific element of one/several areas of the curriculum where student teachers engage in a cycle of observation, practice and feedback in order to develop increased knowledge, understanding and skills.
This module reflects current government policy including the Teachers’ Standards and is underpinned by inclusion guidance.- Enrolled students: 123
QualRef Qualifications Reforms
Qualifications in the UK are currently undergoing significant reform. Administrations throughout the UK are reviewing and reforming the range of qualifications offered in schools and colleges, and are also reforming apprenticeship frameworks. Qualifications are also being used more for school accountability and performance measures.
The new UCAS Tariff is relevant to both Tariff and non-Tariff using provider and will be used for courses starting from September 2017 and for HESA data returns for the entry cohort 2017/18.
